Hahnemühle has been in business since 1584. This company manufactured the canvas on which Rembrandt painted The Night Watch. This quality canvas better absorbs the pigments, which facilitates the exceptionally long life of these products. Their Torchon paper has a rich, tactile dimension. The term “torchon” is taken from French, which means “coarse structure.” With the appropriate image, it adds richness and in most cases, eliminates the need for a mat/passe-partout, due to the quality of the paper.
